Innovation Strategy › Opportunity Mapping

Where your business goals and the tech market intersect.

Research tells you what exists. Mapping tells you what to do about it. We identify, validate, and prioritize the places emerging technology can move one of your numbers, and hand back a short list of use cases in the order worth doing them, each attached to a business owner, a budget line, and a measure that would prove it worked.

What we ask.

Every candidate use case goes through the same three questions. What comes out is a set of quick wins with both strong value and practical feasibility, plus a longer-term roadmap.

Is it worth doing?

What the use case actually moves, in your own numbers and against your own baseline, with a named owner attached before it goes any further. If nobody owns the number, it is not yet a use case.

Can the market supply it?

Whether anyone can deliver it today, tested against real deployments rather than against a category label. A use case with no ready supplier is a research question, and we mark it as one.

Can you actually run it?

What it would take inside your stack, your data, and your procurement. The practical constraints get weighed at the start, where they are cheap, rather than discovered during a pilot.

Klabin's dedication to sustainable innovation has been enhanced through our collaboration with SOSA and CNI. By partnering with SOSA, we have identified the optimal partners for our initiatives.

How mapping works.

Your goals

Value and feasibility

Use cases

Priority order

The roadmap

Your goals and the numbers behind them

We start with what your business units are being measured on: the targets they carry, the numbers that have to move, and the constraints you already know about.

Candidate use cases, written from your operations

We turn each goal into specific places where technology could help, described the way your operations actually run rather than by technology category.

Value, supply, and feasibility

Every candidate gets weighed on what it would move, on whether anyone can supply it today, and on what it would take inside your stack, your data, and your procurement.

The list, put in order

The candidates that are both worth doing and doable now.

The roadmap you end up with

A short list with an owner, a budget, and a KPI.

What happens after the roadmap.

Mapping ends with a prioritized roadmap. Here's where it sits in the sequence, and what we do with it next.

01

Before this

Innovation research

The categories worth backing, in order. Many clients commission the two together, because each makes the other sharper.

02

You are here

Opportunity mapping

A short list of use cases in priority order, each one with an owner, a budget line, and a measure that would prove it worked.

03

Next

Execution and scaling

We find and vet the technology, run the pilot with your operators, and roll out what works across the business.

Innovation is about people, this is why we work with SOSA. This is a secret ingredient, the people. It's about taking small bets, on many different ventures along the way, some of them will change the world.
